An important date for this year’s conference calendar is set: The XIX EUCARPIA meeting of the tomato working group will take place from May 2-4, 2018 in Naples/ Italy.
 
The event is hosted by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA) on behalf of The Vegetable Section of the European Association for Research and Plant Breeding (EUCARPIA).
 
The conference will cover all relevant aspects of tomato genetics and breeding. It will provide an excellent opportunity for tomato researchers and breeders to share and discuss advances and innovations on genetic resources, crop production, fruit quality and post-harvest, biotic and abiotic stresses as well as genomics and biotechnological approaches.
 
G2P-SOL partner Dani Zamir (HUJI) is a member of the organizing committee and will also speak during Session 1 on “Management and Use of Genetic Resources”.
 
The meeting is of particular interest for G2P-SOL as tomato is one of the four main Solanaceous food crops targeted by the project - besides potato, pepper and eggplant. It will further deepen the exchange between fellow H2020 projects TomGEM and TRADITOM who have key roles in the organizing and scientific committee.
